ABOUT

Mary is a self-taught artist who has been quietly honing her skills for most of her life. She began painting with water-colour before discovering her passion for pastels.

C.V

In the mid nineties she married and had two children and amid the busyness of motherhood, she found solace and inspiration in painting, this time exploring the vibrant possibilities of acrylics. Over the years, acrylics became her primary medium, and today she paints with them full time.

Mary began a commercial venture starting a small business in the mid 2000’s. This involved reproducing prints of her work onto canvas. Although this venture had good success, it was original work that she wanted to excel in.

By 2013, Mary began entering art competitions and was met with immediate success. Her work, often focused on large, moody landscapes with  a distinctive atmosphere—frequently drawing on nostalgic references and objects from the past to evoke a haunting beauty.

In 2015  she was invited by Gold Coast Gallery Hillier and Skuse to exhibit her works.

Today, Mary works from her home studio on the Gold Coast, Queensland, where she continues to create  imaginative pieces. Her work is available for purchase through this website, as well as on the online art platforms,  Bluethumb and Art Lovers Australia.

Mary also accepts commission work and welcomes enquiries—she can be contacted  here for more information.
