Spare Parts is about our ability to adapt to changing circumstances, both on a personal, emotional level and on the larger global scale. In this piece, by reusing bits of the past (plane parts, springs,metal, wood) and re-cycling things in the present (office chair, sunglasses, road signs etc), we can dramatically impact the future by helping to save our unique environment and wildlife. Australia is well known for it's remote and harsh conditions - often popping down to the local hardware is not an option - and this has forged a resilience and a can do/make do quality in the outback that I admire greatly.
