THE GATE KEEPER
This painting began with a dark and moody sky, a favourite of mine and the strange, yet familiar domestic setting of someone's front yard. The gatekeeper is represented by the dog - guardian of the conscious mind, the home of our treasured thoughts and ideas. Every suggestion - good or bad- approaches our mind, seeking entry and it's up to us to filter what we mentally consume and digest to avoid unwanted guests, as they might steal away our power to unlock peace and happiness.. This truly unique, large scale work is funky and cool, with a great depth of field and popping Victorian and industrial overtones - a talking point over any dinner table.
